The pursuit of optical poetry—
My personal Shangri-La exists where craft, flair, and organization meet. I'm Kaitlyn Peterson, a designer, art director, and the person behind Special Delivery Studio, my independent creative practice.
Over the past decade I've led creative across some of the world's most recognized brands and the startups redefining their categories. Agency work at AKQA alongside Apple, Levi's, Audi, and Facebook; in-house at Peachy Skincare and TUSHY, where I owned everything from brand identity and packaging to campaigns, websites, and art direction. That combination of big-brand rigor and startup scrappiness is what I bring to every project I take on independently.
My background is in fine art and media theory, so the work is conceptual at its core and precise in its execution. I design everything under the sun: brand systems, web experiences, 360º campaigns, storefronts and window displays, paper goods, custom illustrations in digital and analog mediums, and I've designed and animated screens featured in Times Square.
Additionally, over the past few years, bespoke, handcrafted work for weddings and special events has felt particularly meaningful. My partner and I share a love for sentimental, handcrafted artwork, and there's nothing quite like building out the vision of a couple preparing for one of the most important days of their lives. We do that work together at Broken Sofa Studio.
I'm an insatiably curious creative, and I welcome any new brief from culture-conscious brands who are passionate about innovation and inclusivity.
