The Oversight Board exists to uphold free expression by reviewing content decisions with respect to important pieces of content on the Platform; issue advisory opinions on the Platform's content policies; and in doing so use principled, independent judgment that reflects values of free expression and human rights.

Our team at AKQA was responsible for the branding and site design of the Oversight Board, which is visually elegant, classic, and clean to signify trust and stability. A departure from Facebook's core identity, the Oversight Board's visual identity carries greater weight and esteem through monochromatic blues and grays. In addition, we leveraged type more than most brands and the selected typography reflects attributes that are both constitutional and editorial.
